i have a 2005 chrysler sebring, and i have one single 9007 bulb for both daytime driving and night time driving lights. do i need to purchase bi-xenon hid's? or can i just purchase regular 9007 bulb and use it for both daytime and night time driving. also, if i just get the one regular hid bulb, can i switch between day time light and night driving?
There are 4 types of kits available for 9007 bulbs.
cheapo 9007-1 hid kits that will turn off and do nothing when you switch to highbeam
9007-2 kits will have an HID for low beam, and use a halogen for highbeam.
9007-3 kits refferred to as flexible bulbs, b-xenon bulbs, or telescopic bulbs, these kits use a single HID for high beam and low beam, and extend and retract it to offer tow beam patterns (I sell these kits for $136 if you are interested)
9007-4 kits have two ballasts for each bulb, and each bulb has two HIDS one for high beam, and one for low beam. These kits are not ideal because when you switch to high beam, the second HID has to warm up before you can use it.
If you have daytime running lights and your vehicle uses a 9007 bulb type, you will have to modify ANY KIT you get to resolve the issue. You can resolve it to turn on the hid when your daytime running lights are on, or you cna resolve it to eleminate your daytime running lights from functioning.
