Is a 5000 watt 15" Dual 2 ohm Voice Coil Subwoofer loud?
Im talking about a Cerwin-Vega Stroker PRO 12
Hear are the specs:
Diameter:15”
Power Handling: 2500wrms
Frequency Response:46-200Hz
Voice Coil Diameter:4.0”
Sensitivity: 86dB 1w/1m
The 5000watts is peak
It's going to be really loud. But you will have to do some serious upgrading to your electrical system to get the full 5000w.
To give you an idea....
5000w output means that you will need 5000w/0.8 (80% efficient amp, class D) = 6250w input. 6250w/14.4 = 434A. That means you will need 434A to power that system. You would need an alternator around the 500A range.
That is assuming that the 5000w is rms and not peak.
