Both amps are hooked up exactly the same, i just purchased the pioneer...used. I swaped out the sony to test the pioneer and it works, but like I said, it barely moves the speakers. The amp makes a slight high pitched hum with every thump. I'm thinking something is friend inside the amp. Nothing smells burnt, I took it apart and everthink looks fine. Could this be a power issue, maybe a grounding problem? The power wire is only 8 guage.
This is a monoblock amplifier and has one speaker output. It is rated to 2 ohms. I am running two 4 ohm subs in parallel giving me a total of 2 ohms.
you also have to match the ohm of the speaker to the ohms form the amp and just because it says 800 watts power doesn't mean it is. If it is a class D mono amp then it is getting 800 watts/channel but is it is a 4 channel amp it will only get 200watts/channel so it could be a few different things
