Preventing Speeding Tickets?
On the news this morning, a person was arrested for holding up a sign on the sidewalk, informing drivers that a policeman was around the corner, checking for speeding with a radar. This obviously allowed people to have a fair warning of the threat of a ticket around the corner, so no one was being ticketed. Eventually, the police caught her with the sign and arrested her. If she is preventing traffic offenses from being committed and dedicating her time to the safety of the roads...was a crime committed? Just curious.
Addtional Details - the television report did not specify what her charge was. It was in Harris, County (Houston). But if the sign said, 'Save the Whales' would the same reponse from the cops apply?
