Can infinity basslink be wired using only rear speakers?
I'm trying to install an infinity basslink subwoofer in my car. will it work ok if i just tap the rear left and rear right speakers? (one connector plugged in) can i fake the system out and use my rear speakers to plug into the "front L/R" connector?
also, when when i turn off the ignition, the speaker hums very loudly. i'm not using a remote wire because i'm using the universal interface which automatically shuts the amp off when i shut off the car. it is NOT shutting off though.
I basically wired the "front" connector on the back of the basslink to my Rear L, and the "rear" connector to Rear R speaker.
It barely hits. What's the correct way to wire it WITHOUT using the fronts?
It shouldn't be necessary to hook up both the front and rear connections for the Basslink to work. The main reason for having both inputs is so that the bass will remain constant even if you adjust the fader control.
It's possible that you've wired the two rear inputs out of phase. Try disconnecting one of the two speaker connections and see if the bass gets louder. If it does, re-connect the wires but switch the (+) and (-) connections.
I'd advise running a wire from a key-switched power source to the remote terminal, so that the Basslink shuts off automatically with the key.
