What is the importance of insulation in a subwoofer enclosure?
i just installed a 12 in sub in my truck with a box that i made. i really just wanted to get it in there so i went head thinkin if i need the insulation, i could add it later. the thing is, i dont know what difference ot would make. if it does do something noticeable, can you tell me what, and what type of insulation to put in it?

Experment with and with the insulation inside the box and see what sound you like better. Insulation in a box is to prevent the sound wave from hitting the speaker and changing the sound. Let your own ears be the judge.
