Need help with car audio?
In my 1987 4runner i have a sony 600 watt pushing my highs and i have A) a 1200 watt pheonix gold amp that i know works cuz i hooked it up to my other car, running a memphis mojo 15, the mojo pounds until i turn the volume up and then the sub will cut out, but come back on when the volume turns down, i thought it was a bad coil, so i tried hooking up my alpine vpower m1000 amp to 2 type r tens and they did the same thing, they would pound and then cut out when the bass hits, i know nothing is wrong with them cuz they are brand new. I have checked all wiring and everything is tight and nothing is touching. The alternator is stock but it works fine, i also tried playing it when the truck is running, but even on low volume a light inside the truck was dimming, i need to know how i can fix thius

i believe the amp is going into protection mode. What ohms is the sub? is this below the rated max on the amp? Is the amp getting the right amount of power then? you say the power is dimming, if it dips too much, the amp will shut off. try running the sub off of one channel instead of in bridged mode...
