My mom is looking at buying a really nice 2009 fully loaded Suzuki grand vitara. Do they make good vehicles?
Its really nice and only has 3000 miles on it. Still smells brand new. But what I want to know is, do they make good reliable vehicles? thanks
The best way to answer this is to look at the facts. Suzuki warranties their vehicles to 100,000 miles for who ever owns them. If I buy one, sell it to Jon Doe, then he sells it and finally you get it 2 years later, it still has the warranty to 100,000 miles. If they believe in their vehicles that much maybe you could?
The first company that came out with the 10 year 100,000 miles warranty was Kia. That was a great selling point for the company but if I bought it and sold it to you a month later you only got 5 year 50,000 mile warranty.
Enough about warranty. I started with my first suzuki when I was 22 and I got my first motorcycle. It was awesome. The power was extreme. I knew Suzuki knew what they were doing because the suzuki GSXR 750 was faster than any other company's 1000 cc bikes of the time. I was hooked. I then got a 94 Suzuki sidekick that I still have today. It is a beat up old work horse. I 4 wheel that thing every chance I get, it will go anywhere do anything. And no matter how bad I treat it it keep coming back for more. Then when I grew up and needed a rig more suitable for my life, kids and a wife and all, I decided to give suzuki another chance. I ended up buying a 2006 Grand Vitara off the lot with only .9 miles on it. That rig is awesome, it reminds me of a grown up sophisticated 94 sidekick!! It has a ton of luxuries, safety galore, the huge warranty, it even looks like my old sidekick.
As for a 09? I dunno. The body is the same for the most part, but they have two "new" engines. That was a selling point for me on my 06 is that the engine had been around for about 10 years and had built its own reliability so to speak. The new engines are a 4 popper and a bigger v6 then the one I have. Honestly, I would have no problem owning one of these with a suzuki built 4 cylinder. Suzuki built there rep on their solid 4 cylinder motors. As for the new v6? Well that's what warranty is for right? Maybe that why the other person was saying that she may be better off with last years model?
