I'm looking to become a DJ, is this good equipment to get for starters? Is there anything else I would need?
This is the equipment I will be buying for $800:
2 peavey 118 speaker cabinets with Horn , Midrange and 18" subs , 1 Numark dj mixer , 1 Peavey cs 1000 power amp , 1 elation light controller , 1 power supply all in slant rack case , also have empty 8 space case , 1 light tree with 12" stand and 4 elation pin spots $800
Is this a good deal? Someone please help

I dont care for peavey gear the sound is just not there.
I would look into buying speaker from jbl or carvin.
As for power amps I would buy a carvin amp the dcm 1000 has way more power than the peavy amp your looking at.
Beside if your going to run a sub your going to need a 1000 min watts just for the subs.
Im runing 2100 watts to my carvin sw1802 and the bass is hard core.
and as for the light you would be way better off buying par38 cans rather than pin spots.
You should look at better amp and speakers before you think about buying lights .Theres just no real money in them most time you dont need them and they just set there.
so in short put the lights on hold till you make some money with what you have.
buy the best speakers and amp and cd player you can.

dont buy gear just to have it buy good gear and people will start to pass your name around.
Oh yeah peavy amps tend to shut down very easy when they get hot or are run at 4 ohms with the gains turned up.
Nothing will make you more mad than having an amp shut down while your playing
peavy amps and speakers also clip very easy.
