using RCA splitter from STB to tv and home theater?
my set top box has only 1 set of RCA output (red,whit-audio and yellow video). i have to connect my home theater system and tv from this one output . .
some time i turn on home theater and some time use tv speaker . . .
for that i need to split red and white wires and get 2 red and 2 white wires(2 sets)
i have this type of splitter (not externally powered) (http://thesiliconhorizon.com/store/images/rcaMto2F3inch.jpg)
tv and home theater going to have one set of RCA pair (red and white) . .
i am going to use one at a time home theater or tv speakers . .when home theater is on set tv volume to zero. .
my question is does the splitting arrangement reduce the signal quality ?
any negative impact on set top box or tv or home theater ?

No, it's fine. There is no problem using splitters for audio this way. It's done all the time.
Do not, however, try to use a Y-cable to *combine* two signals into one input.
