sony xplod stereo cuts out out at high volume?
ive just bought a car with a sony xplod cd player recently fitted, the car is factory fitted with eight speakers,which over twenty years have been changed, but when i have the volume turned up quite loud it will momentarily cut out, and then sort of resets itself to start again, should i be using an amp,if so which kind, something small. Also i have noticed one of the infinity door speakers is not working (at all) and this had been paired into the larger pioneer speakers next to it, is this correct, and should i disconnect the other side in order to balance the two sides,as a temporary measure prior to replacing the duff ones

Think carefully...you are having a problem with something that is called " xplod " hmmm, yes, you are overheating the amps in your headunit...obviously you like it loud...buy an amp, and think about upgrading or at least cleaning up your speaker configuration.
