Who jumps higher Kevin Garnett or Shaquille O'Neal?
I'm asking this question on verses of Strength Jumpers verses Elastic Jumpers. They are both around the same height Shaq 7'2, Garnett 7'0 even( He likes to be called 6'11 LOL) Anyway, Shaquille O Neal is powerfully muscular and has the brute strength to lift his body off the floor to dunk. Garnett is more flexible and uses that reflexive muscle to cock it back and Kaboom! LOL Anyway, for some strength training can be counterproductive for vertical jump do you agree? Flip the Script Kevin Garnett bulking up more and Shaquille O' Neal slimming down more. See what I mean? I heard mixed information, I knew some basketball coaches that didn't want their players lifting weights and doing strength training because they bulk up too much and it hurts their vertical jump. Plus I guess they felt it was the wrong type of training for the sport of basketball. Saying we're not training to be football players here.
