Single Subwoofer Sub

do you get more bass or quality with a single 4 ohm sub or two 4 ohm subs?
My system has one sub and i was just given a second one. So now i have
1 kicker zx750.1 amp (gets plenty of air)
2 sony Xplod 1200 watt 4 Ohm
1 farad cap
Will i notice a difference with two? And if so how to wire?
Or should i just get rid of the second subwoofer?
Placed is a full size suv
Depends. But generally you're wasting your time and degrading your system by doubling the number of woofers in a cars because you've got to make compromises to get two in.
The basic answer is that one large subwoofer is better than two smaller ones.
So the basic answer is get one great big mother subwoofer (great big as in effective, designs vary) and get it close enough to feel.
You can certainly have bad subwoofer design or quality. But if they are good quality, you need to remember that subwoofer output ranges are not directional and they are not so much heard as they are felt.
Location only matters up to a point. If you put the sub in the trunk behind the seat, you may miss some of the feel and boom boom. Follow the manufacturer's recs or a good seller's rec. In a home system, where the sub is located doesn't matter as much (in a given space), but on rare occasion in a larger space, a second sub is nice to spread the boom and shake the floors. But those are big mothers and they don't get used fully that often - remember those frequencies are not used as much as you might thing and subs don't sound all that great above their optimal range.
If you've ever noticed this systems with a lot of speakers, they're all pretty small with the exception of the sub. Why? They're directional and can add clarity. Not subs.
My basic theory about subs is that, with the exceptions noted above, using one big sub produces twice the sound of two smaller subs.
If you've got any doubt about this, take a look at a speaker in action, like a 12" or larger in action. Watch the cone and you can see just how much it moves. The bigger the effective cone, the more powerfully that wave movement is felt. Then look at a 6" subwoofer. Not anywhere close. Multiply by two and you've gone nowhere in most cases.
Final note. There are all these tubed designs where the horn is calculated into a smaller package. They can work better than a conventional system in a small space, but give me a conventional big mouth single sub any day.
