Well I was driving my friends car one day and i was standing on double-parking waiting for her . Then as i was waiting a cop car came behind me ( i took that as a signal to move ) . I drove around the corner then came back and stood on double parking again . Then some other cop car stood behind me again and I just drove forward . Then like a month later my friend calls me and tells me she got a ticket for double-parking on the date that i drove the car and plus a fee for not paying on time !! Is it possible to get a ticket and not even know ???
Yep, fact of life. Many police vehicles have a dash camera with a date-time stamp and that can be used as evidence. As long as there is a clear view of the license plate. If a driver takes tries to flee from the police, the police may follow for a while. If the infraction is relatively minor and the police have the license plate number, they will break off the pursuit out of concern for public safety. The police may show up at the vehicle owner's residence at their convenience or issue a summons by mail.
