What's the best Subwoofer box to use?
Trying to find out which box will produce the best sound... I have a sealed box now with my 2 12’s but was looking to go with a vented/ported or plexi-glass bandpass box, but don't want to waste my money if I’m not going to get any kind of difference from the switch. I'm driving a 09 Nissan Sentra, and I was told that cars with Trunks sound better with sealed boxes and vented/ported and bandpass enclosure boxes are for open cars like SUV's. I’m getting mixed reviews online because I hear a lot of website says that bandpass box and ported boxes are the best for any kind of car, and some sites say it depends on your style of music. Anyhow, let me know your input on the matter…. Thanks!
i would say go with either ported or bandpassed. be careful if you are doing this yourself and look up the port sizes etc. but i personally had all three and out of all of them i liked the sealed the worst. I'm a big fan of loud bass, and i ended up going with a ported box on my last 2 boxes. but size of your application could be a problem as for ported boxes are usually larger, but the resonance to me makes it worth it... it's all about personal preference. -w
