I am very confused with all the wires and I've never installed a radio before but don't have $100 to let a tech do it PLUS I really would love to learn and the instructions on the radio and wiring harness arent well...instructions at all they instruct as if u already know everything....PLEASE HELP!!!
wELL I HAVE a wiring harness but dont know what to do with the loose wires on the radio connector and on the wiring harness
If you have went to a store and bought a wiring harness specific for your vehicle the steps are easy. All of the wires should be lableb in tiny black or grey text on each one. Connect each wire acordingly. Usauly the red and yellow need to be twisted toghether, and conected to your radio's red and yellow wires. After this conect the black wire from the harness to your radio's black wire. Now its time for the blue wire if your radio has one connect them, this is your remote wire and memory also. After that comes your speaker wires this should be easy, find each wire on the wiring harness there should be a wire to match it with a black, grey or white line down the center....Example pure green and green with a black line. Connect these wires to the green or what ever color wire you matched up to the one with no line to the one with no line on the back of your radio now do the same with the one that has a line. Repeat this until those wires with lines and and the ones with no lines are all attached. Finally if any wires are left over dont be worried some factory wiring harnesses come with an amp ground also, what you want to do is tape all of your wire with electrical tape so there is no bare wire visable, now connect the box end of the harness to you cars wiring harness, slide your radio in and secure it ultimately you should be ready to go.
