Why does my laptop keep turning off when I switch from power saver to hp recommended or high performance?
These are my only power options and my computer turns off in like 20 to 60 minutes when ever i switch it to high performance or hp recommended. When my computer turns randomly it takes a while before it actually turns off and then when i turn back on my computer it just asks me if i want to resume where i was. THIS IS NOT FROM OVER HEATING IVE TRIED MANY THING INCLUDING A SEPARATE FAN AND PROPPING IT UP. Its only a year old so i don't know if its the battery
I faced same overheating problem in my DELL inspiron 1525. Actually your 'thermistor' , which is on motherboard , is damaged. There are 2 or more thermistor on motherboard. You have to check the voltage through every one and have to replace one or more. I would suggest you to go to a laptop hardware repairing shop and get the thermistor changed. I have to pay $22 for this and now my laptop is working fine.
