Since my front TV audio/video plugs don't work (you know, the white and yellow), I'm thinking of buying something like this modulator: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=5481481&st=RF+modulator&lp=2&type=product&cp=1&id=1051826216013 for use of connecting my DVD player, cable, game consoles, etc. to my TV. I noticed on the back of the modulator, it also has output audio and video hookups. What are the capabilities of these? Are they only for stereo systems? If I were to get a S Video input USB device for my laptop, could I video record or capture from my TV (and the same for audio) from anything that is *input* to the modulator?
What you are looking at is both an RF modulator and a video switch. - something that is not all that common. This means that any input selected will go both to the RF output and the video output.
So to answer your question, yes whatever you input to the modulator could be captured by an S-video USB device hooked up to your laptop and hooked up to the output of the modulator/switch.
