2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer Remote Starter Tips...?
I'm installing a remote starter on my grandfather's 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer. I've gotten the starter module installed and it works. I'm having a problem with the security bypass module though. I believe the vehicle has a Passlock II security system and I've wired the module according to the instructions. Still, the vehicle won't stay running. It will engage the starter and the engine will hit a few times before it dies. (Sounds like fuel starvation as that is what the Passlock II system interrupts). Has anyone installed a remote starter on a passlock II system? And advice, tips, etc.? Thanks.
I'm not worried about blowing it up, as I am very experienced in automotive repairwork. (I've replaced batteries in several of them without locking them up)Just not exactly sure how the security bypass module works.
I already have a bypass module. It's an aftermarket system by bulldog security
My grandfather bought it from carmax, and it has no warranty!
Go talk to someone that installs these professionally. There are severe consequences for making a mistake- like blowing the computer or engine stalling on the road.
They can guide you through the rest of the process.
Those remote starters can be very tricky. As costly as it is, I usually recommend people to have the dealer install their own model, for warranty purposes.
