What size fuse do i need to place between the battery and the distro block?
Ok so i have 2 gauge cable running from the battery to a distribution block with two lines of 4 gauge cable running out - one to a 1000 watt RMS mono block and the other to a 4 channel 500 watt RMS amp. Question is - what size fuse do i need to place between the battery and the distro block?
Add the fuse ratings of each amp together, divide by 3/4, for example:
mono amp has 60A
4 ch amp has 40A
= 100A
divide by 3/4
= 75A
using too low a rating will blow during a high load
using too hi a rating will not protect the circuits if a problem arises.
