What could be wrong with my rear defrost if.......?
I have a 2000 convertible mustang. Recently my rear defrost tab popped off my rear window. I purchased a rear tab defrost repair kit, everything went fine. Until I tried to use the defrost, it wouldn't work at all. It was working fine before the tab popped off. I used an eletro-meter and I am getting electric current from both tabs and all of the grid lines but it will not defrost my rear window. I'm afraid my only option is to replace the window and that may cost at least $400. Can anyone give any suggestions on what to do or how I can narrow down what may be the problem. and oh yeah, the light on the dash is still on when I push the defrost button on , so I don't think it's the fuse. Help!!!!!!!
Are you checking it with voltage or resistance. Cause a open will show the same as a good grid if your checking it with voltage meter. Use ohm meter. It will show if the circuit is open
