After reading 7 customer reviews I found out that Whistler 1753 All-Band Radar/Laser Detector with Voice Alert is the best detector which I can buy at an affordable price. I am willing to spend around $150.00 to get a radar detector. I believe that this will be a good investment. Normally I drive +6 miles of the posted speed limit. But there are some cops who are desperate about giving someone a ticket and I do not want to be that someone. Anybody have any recommendation.
You are correct in that the Whistler is a good buy for the money. However, if you look at the price of a couple speeding tickets, maybe you should you raise your limit. If you raise your spending limit by $65-$75 you can buy an Escort 8500 X50 which is consistantly one of the best radar detectors reviewed. In my opinion for the cost of a ticket plus the rise in insurance your best bet is the Escort. However, if $150 is your absolute max, the Whistler is the best in that price range.
