Sculpture-type objects in Lake Washington?
I'm comparatively new to the Seattle area. At the west end of the 520 bridge, there are two shiny, objects, one on either side of the bridge. They're like long, inverted pyramids, sunk down into the water, and covered with panels of what appear to be reflective glass or metal in tones of gold, green, and blue (I think). They are lighted by flood lights at night. Does anybody know what they are?? I don't know if they're navigational aids, artwork, or something else entirely. Anybody know??? I'm totally baffled!!
They are sculptures. There used to be fountains there a long time ago, but they were never working. From historylink.com : "The Nellie Cornish Sculptures at the bridge's western end were installed in the 1990s on the bases of former fountains."
