I've asked before at the local place here, because Best Buy and Circuit CIty didn't know. The guy said I needed a special harness that was over 100 dollars, because all of the accesories go into the same harness as well. Is this true or was he trying to get me to buy something I didn't need?
Your car uses a class 2 data buss. The wire that normally is the switched ignition power is actually a data information wire. If that wire sees a certain resistance/voltage itcan deploy the airbags or damage the vehicles computer(s). You can use an available T-harness or a data-buss chime module. AAMP of America (Stinger) part # for the t-harness is BHA2004T. This harness retains your factory radio but lets you relocate it to the trunk. The part # for the data-buss chime module is GMCO from the same company. Please people, research these things before you advise anyone. I saw a young get his jaw shattered when he cut the harness on a class 2 data-buss. Air bags can be dangerous.
