Hifonics Amp No Sound Help BXI 606?
8 guage ...60amp inline fuse.... with 2 12 in SVC 2 ohm 300 rms each wire parallel. it was hooked up to the head unit with a line out converter, the guy i had hook it up looked over the set up and saw a part inside the line out converter got fried . The amp has overload protection but it hasent reset it self or sumthin got fried .the problem is eveything is correct the green light shows ... it was working fine for a day then the line out conerter blew and thats when i couldent get a response from the amp(it lights up like it should but no sound). No fuses blown. Replaced Lineout.. still no sound. Hifonics BXI 606
You can check if it is your lineout or your amp by connecting a ipod or cd player to the amp. You need a 3.5mm to RCA adapter and either a portable cd player or ipod. Then just plug in the RCAs to the RCAs on the amp and see if any music plays. If it does then you know it is your line out converter. If it doesn't then it is your amp. Only try this for a short time just to test it.
