i have a 1500 watt amp and 2x 12in 1300 watt subs i have it hooked up right. it works but my friend has 400 watt amp 2x 12in 1100 watt subs and its louder? im wondering if it can be because of my 12v input i have a 4 gauge wire hooked up but i split up to a V shape and cut one end off and ended it with a 10 gauge ring terminal can it mean that its not getting all 12voltz therefore not allowing all power i have sony xplodes and he has pioneers i no it depends on subs but even equal to as much has he has can that be a reason ? should i get a 4 gauge ring terminal instead of doing what i did ?
im betting that you have it wired wrong and the ohms(impedance) are mismatched, go rockfordfosgate.com and use their woofer wiring wizard
you'll need to input quantity and impedance of speakers to find out how to properly wire your speakers to the impedance of your amp
if that doesnt work, your ring terminals are limiting your power and you'll probably want to take it to best buy and have it professionally done
