Can I use 8 gage power wire for speaker wire?
I have 2 12in. Kenwood subs and I wanted to know if I can use 8 gauge power wire instead of speaker wire to hook them up to my amp?Why can or cant I do this?Thanks in advance for your help.
I suppose you could. They are both Copper wire and it is thicker gauge then speaker wire so you wouldn't run into power or current problems. But speaker wire 12 - 16 gauge so work just fine for subs and it costs a lot less.
