safe for 2 amps to use different gauge wire for ground?
Im about to upgrade my car audio wiring to 4 gauge from 8. I bought a 4 gauge wiring kit and a 4 to 8 (3X) gauge distribution block.
My current amp has 8 for the power and ground, when I get a second one (most likely to be mono for a sub) the power will be 8 but is it safe to use a 4 for the ground?
or does it all have to be equal? 2 amps both powered by 8 for power and 8 for ground?

so your running 4 gauge from the battery to a distro block then 8 gauge to the amps? then 8 gauge ground will be fine. if your running 4 gauge ground, then you should run 4 gauge power...If the amp will take 4. I think i'm more confused than you after reading this.
