Has Yahoo ever been any help for someone who's account has been hacked?
My yahoo account was hacked into a few years ago, I think because I logged into it at a friend's place who, as it turned out, had a few viruses. I've since contacted Yahoo, even scanned and emailed copies of my driver's licence and birth certificate to prove that I am the owner of the account.
All I ever received from them were form letters telling me to verifiy my address or postal code or birthdate on their site...the same thing over and over and over...and over.
Obviously this can't be done, because when I try, it says it's incorrect. Well of course it is, whoever gained access to my account, changed it.
The account still seems to be active, at least the profile is with a picture of me and my daughter on it.
I'm wondering if anyone else has ever had a similiar problem where Yahoo had turned their 'auto form letter reply' off and had actually helped!!
I only have anecdotal evidence, but it seems that Y!A doesn't really care about a hacked account
