Amp shuts off at high volume?
I installed my amp and sub about 6 months ago and a few days ago the fuse that is on the power cable that comes from the battery blew. I replaced it with a fuse of equal amp rating. The sub and amp works again but it will turn off the amp if i try and turn it up all the way. It never did this before. If i turn down the gain on the amp then i can turn the volume on the receiver up more but then the sub isn't as loud cause i turned the gain down. The amp is 1 ohm stable so i have the sub up for 1 ohm cause the sub has dual voice coils. The only thing that i changed was i bought a different fuse block is it possible that the different fuse box is not adequate? Any ideas on what the problem could be?
AMP
Alpine MRP-M500 300Watt@2ohms 500Watts@1ohm
Sub
Rockford Fosgate P3D212 500Watt rms 1000Watt Max
Usually this happens because either the amp is worn out or defective, it's getting too much power, or it's not getting enough power.
Check your alternator and battery. While running, it should be outputting around 14V.
