We purchased a large Samsung Plasma TV at Christmas. We had a DVD Player/VHS Player combo, so we hooked it up. The DVD player part works fine, but when you switch it over to VCR, the TV will not show the "blue" screen that's supposed to be there when it's on VCR. When we play VHS tapes in the VCR, they also do not play on the TV. What gives? This is an older VCR/DVD Combo, with only ANT In/Out ports and a the colored ports (no HDMI or whatever that is)
Seen this before.... you're connected using the Red, Green and Blue connectors and those connections ONLY get video from the DVD player, the VCR was NOT DESIGNED for separated RGB signals, so that signal comes out of the YELLOW RED WHITE composite output jacks....so does the DVD signal.
The RF (channel 3 ) output also combines both sides of your system.
So, that means you're forced to use the Channel 3 RF OR the Yellow/red/white Composite output jacks on the back of your combo unit....
