I have a 60" Philips DLP TV that is not working. About two months ago the lamp failed light was flashing and then stopped. The last week or so it became darker and darker and then no picture. Two days ago it shut itself off and the power light began blinking six times slow and five times fast. Philps suggested trying a software upgrade which didnt work because it wouldnt stay on long enough to recognize the download. The lamp is on backorder with no known date of being restocked. The model number is 60PL9200D/37. Any suggestions of what can be done other than purchasing a new tv? This one is about 2-3 years old. Also, there is no access door on the back of the tv to be able to get to the lamp. It looks as if the entire back would have to be removed but everything I have read says there should be a panel for lamp removal/installation. Thanks!!
Once you remove the back panel you should see the little door in the casing protecting that part on the circuit board make sure the set is switched off and try not to touch any other part of the circuit board with your bare hands as the static from yor body could cause damage to sensitive parts
