I accidently touch my rear speaker wire on the fuse distribution block and it sparked. Now my volume control wont adjust and my screen wont open or close. Basicly the top half of the deck doesnt work. Is my deck bad or did i fry the wires.(none of the fuses blew)
the deck plays but the sound is very staticy.
I hate to be the barer of bad news but, you did damage the CD player. If none of the fuses blew and the top half doesn't work, along with static in the speakers. You burnt the output on the deck. You also might have damaged the speaker(s). I would check those also. You probably blew a transistor inside the deck. You might want to take it to a audio repair shop. Some don't charge to examine the unit and find the problem. Some charge around $10-15. It might cost you around $100 or more depending on the damage and which store you take it to.
