I have this tv in my camper and need to know 2 things. Is it digital? and how many watts of power does it require to run? The reason I need to know is of course 1. because of the digital conversion coming next year and 2. I need to buy a power inverter and wonder if a 300 watt inverter will do the job.
This is an old TV. I spent some time looking for a manual for this TV and I can barely find anything on this TV. All that found is that its a 20" TV with SAP / MTS Stereo sound.
I would say that this TV is firmly out of the realm of Digital TVs, even though it can still be used, it just needs a set-top converter. As far as the wattage goes, you should be able to see the power consumption rating on the back of the television near the area where the plug goes into the TV. It will either be a silver label with black lettering or a black label with white lettering.
I recommend you consider buying a new television because Quasar is a subsidiary of Matsushita (Panasonic), and is planned to be discontinued (if it hasn't been already), making any future repairs more expensive and difficult to have done. Also, purchasing a new TV would eliminate the DTV problem and might even solve your power problem as newer TVs consume far less power than CRT TVs do.
