Just wondering why do you need amps with more watts to power subs? For example im in the process of making a few upgrades to my stock car audio. I bought a 12" L7 and tested it in my friends car. He is running two old school 12" Compvr's. They are being powered by a 4 channel rockfordfosgate 300w amp. When i plugged in my L7, the amp picked it up and it you could see the sub flexing. Just wondering why is it that you need a bigger amp if this little thing picks it up nicely. Thnx
Well u gota remember thats a stereo amp bridged down to mono when he uses both 1234channels hes cuttin it in half when he uses all channels so 1and2 is runnin one side woofer and 3and4 is running the other so its only about 300w divided into 4 equalys 75wats per channel plus the heat so about 65true wats per channel so if u only bridge one channel its 300wats of the amp u need a mono only amp that runs the ohm load of ur kicker l7 square woofers move more air than circles do so u need the right ohm load amp like if its dual 4 ohm its it can be wired down to 2ohm mono if its dual 2ohm than it can be wired to 4ohm brideable stereo all depends how u wired ur woofer u should have it wired like one side of the woofer has black and red terminals and the other side has black with dot and red with dot so u wire them like red to black with dot and the other too to amp like that good luck man u gota good woofer just runn it like it says in the book and ull pound all over his too comps any day!! ombus
