movie- Kill Bill Two, question, spoiler report.?
The Bride arrives at Budd's trailer to see the one-eyed Elle Driver arriving. Elle gives Budd a suitcase of money for the sword, but it also contains a black mamba that bites Budd repeatedly, killing him immediately. Elle calls Bill to tell him that the Bride killed Budd, and also how to find the final resting place of Beatrix Kiddo, which is revealed at this point to be the Bride's name. Beatrix then attacks Elle, and a furious fight ensues. Elle reveals that Pai Mei, who also taught her, snatched out her eye for calling him a "miserable old fool" and that she later poisoned him. During the sword clash, Beatrix plucks out Elle's remaining eye, leaving blinded Elle to writhe in the trailer with the same black mamba that killed Budd, leaving her fate ambiguous.
why did the film director choose such a seemingly insignificant moment in the movie to tell the brides name. Wouldn't it be so much better revealing it when the daughter is revealed to the bride...
I would say no because revealing the child was a big enough significant moment of the movie on its own. Her real name would've just been lost in the midst of the climax. I think the fact that Elle and she were rivals and enemies made it appropriate for Elle to be the one to reveal the name during a moment where she thought she was truly dead, as if to "downgrade" her status and notoriety from their old group, if that makes any sense.
Btw did you know that Daryl Hannah and Uma Thurman really do hate each other in real life......so you can imagine the amount of REAL animosity that occurred during those fighting scenes.
