SUBWOOFER REPAIR HELP- i punctured my rubber surround on my subwoofer.?
earlier i installed my 2 kenwood 12's in a bandpass enclosure and because of the goofy angle i happened to accidentally stab my surround right near the basket which punched a small tear in it. now the material surround is rubber not foam, so should i go to the car audio store and get some type of kit to do this, or hand it over to the professional repair center there? or should i buy some silicone - if so which type. spray adhesive, hot glue, super glue? and again its right near the basket.
by the way, for a q-logic bandpass box am i supposed to wire one subwoofer in reverse? since they are both in the same sealed enclosure?
the tear is on the basket side of the roll surrounding the subwoofer just out (about the thickness of a penny, distance wise) from where the surround is adhered to the basket
If its the hard rubber, you might be able to get away with a tire repair kit and silcone rubber. the rubber patch can be glued to each side of the surrund.
Also do not wire one sub in reverse for a q-logic.
